Step One: Initial Contact
- Remember to allow patience and time for yourself.
- If the death occurred at home, please notify the physician or attending registered nurse. If the death was unexpected, or if there are any peculiar circumstances, phone the police immediately.
- If your loved one was under hospice care at home, the hospice staff should have left some basic information for you to follow.
- Let the facility and/or staff know that you have selected Compassionate Cremation Society.
- Compassionate Cremation Society will be notified, and our Transfer Technician Team will be dispatched to bring your loved one into our care.
Step Two: Preparing for Arrangements
- If you have any questions don’t hesitate to call us.
- Visit us at www.compassionatecremationsociety.com and click Arrange Online or give us a call and we will help you get started.
- After your loved one has been brought into our care, we will contact you to review selected services.
- For your Online Arrangement you will need the following information:
- Date and place of birth (City and State)
- Parents' names, including mother's maiden name
- Marital status and spouse's full name
- Education Information
- Occupation
- Social Security Number
- Power of Attorney Paperwork and or Will
- Military Documents (DD214)
- Next of Kin Contact Information
- Determine the number of Certified Death Certificates you will need.
- How you would like your loved one's remains returned
Step Three: After The Arrangements
- Get Organized with settling the estate, filling out forms, and contacting the appropriate agencies
- Notify Family and Friends
- Notify Clubs, Churches, and or Other Organizations
- Notify Insurance Companies
- Notify Social Security
- Notify Banks
- Canceling Credit Cards and Driver's License
- Submitting phone number to Do Not Call Lists
- Contact a Lawyer if Necessary

- Death Notice: Is a brief way to notify the public of a death. We post the Death Notice in the Tri-City Herald
- Obituaries in the Newspaper: Families will need to work independently with the newspaper of their choosing.
